Are the chemicals Champion SoftWash use safe?

Yes, they are. They are safe for your children, pets and plants. We dedicate ourselves to our line of work and are extremely knowledgeable and confident in choosing solutions that are powerful enough to treat your home or business, yet mild enough to protect your property and loved ones. They are water-based, ship non-hazardously to us, and do not produce chloramines or haloforms which can cause cancer. Our chemicals are also 100% biodegradable. They will not contaminate the beautiful environment we share with you.

Will your process hurt my roof at all?

Absolutely not. All major roof tile manufacturers prescribe a low-pressure chemical sanitizing process to properly maintain the surface. The common myth that is propagated is a chemical treatment of a roof cause tiles to curl, and this is simply not true. The only danger to roofs is the organic living matter that is on the roof producing those black streaks. We treat, and safeguard against organic growth for 4-6 times longer than pressure washing. But it is important to maintain your surfaces so they do not require restorative cleaning.

Do I need to make an appointment to receive my free-estimate?

Yes. There are a lot of factors that go into creating an accurate estimate. When we arrive we’ll perform a walk-around with you to inspect the premise, and then with that information we’ll create an estimate that is specific for your needs. The appointment can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, and we ask that the homeowners are present at that time.

What’s the difference between soft and pressure washing?

We offer a very easy-to-understand explanation here on this very question that we get all the time.

How often should I softwash my home?

Major vinyl siding and roofing tile manufacturers recommend a thorough and safe cleaning every 12 to 18 months. Removing buildups of dirt, debris, mold, algae and oxidation help prolong the longevity of your home and make it look its best. SoftWashing prolongs the cleanliness of your home’s surfaces for up to 5 times as long as pressure washing, so the most you will need is a touch-up within a span of 5 years.

Why should I have Champion SoftWash do something that I could probably do myself?

We believe that you absolutely can do it yourself. But you will want to hire us because we’re experts in our field who are trained to assess the organic and inorganic problems you have on your surfaces. We know how to spot any number of problems you may uncover as well, and how to prevent them from happening again. Exposing UV damage, extreme rust, removing lichen erosion and bacteria fallout are just the beginning of problems you may face. You need an expert who can keep these from coming back, and then guarantee their work. We don’t want you to think we value saving you from rewarding outside work, we want you to know we’re saving you from hundreds of hours of coursework, reading and hands-on experience in the field.

My roof is leaky, but I just need it cleaned? Is this okay?

No. Get it replaced. We are not in the business of profiting at the cost of you and your family’s safety. If you do not properly maintain your roof and now have leaks or damage as a result of allowing the bacteria to deteriorate your roof, you will be wasting your money getting it cleaned. We are on average less than 3% the cost of a full roof replacement, just to get it cleaned. Once you get it replaced, give us a call and we’ll be happy to walk you through a worry-free scheduled estimate for routine maintenance.

Why is it important for a company to have workman’s compensation just to clean my home?

Workman’s compensation protects the customer from being sued if contractors hurt themselves on their property whether it was the fault of the employer, employee or customer. If contractors are practicing un-safe practices while being on your roof, they are increasing the risk you assumed without your consent. Make sure your contractor has the proper workman’s compensation and general liability to protect you and your assets.

Why is it necessary that I be home for you to give me an estimate?

There are a lot of factors that go into pricing any surface on your home or business; Age, method of previous cleaning, drainage present, landscape present, type of surface, pre-existing damage–and these are just some of the factors we look into. When possible, we ask that all parties who would be making the decision be present for the estimate so that they can ask us any questions they may have, and answer any questions we may have. In short, it’s how we prefer to do business. Our aim is to never treat your home as an impersonal number that can be exchanged over texts or emails without visiting first.

We just need our surface pressure washed. Why are you SoftWashing it?

We are not a pressure washing company, but we do understand that consumers find us by seeking out a pressure washing company. Many companies will address the symptoms that you see on your home or business, the dirty streaks and the green build-up of mildew and algae. We go much further by addressing the problem which is by eradicating the contamination, the source of your symptoms. Cleaning is only half the process, sanitizing and treating your surface is what prolongs the contamination from coming back, and that is what we do.
